1. In groups of 2, discuss with each other about advertisement-consumerism in nowadays. You have 10 minutes to discuss this topic analysing the most important causes of consumerism and what are the consequences in relationships and societies. After your discussion, one student has to present the main points of the conversation

 

2. Comment on the phrase "material goods are comforting substitutes for our real need for communication and meaningful contact" in a paragraph of 70-90 words.

 

3. Watch the video and answer the following questions:

 

a.      “Maybe after we understand each other we can become friends instead of enemies”. Explain this phrase in your own words.

b.      “We are each a piece of puzzle in humanity”. How is that?

c.       “We should all be judged by our actions and characters”. Do you agree?

d.      How can people from different cultures learn to co-exist? Make suggestions.
